Pastor’s Message: Welcome Home!

Greetings everyone!

Praise the Lord! I am happy to let you know that the time has finally arrived that the Session feels comfortable with opening the building and worship on June 13 with certain protocols in place. It will be so good to see everyone face to face, to visit in person and to worship in […]

Pastor’s Message: Hope for New Beginnings

Greetings!

Happy Spring! Daffodils have bloomed, the world is greening up and the rhododendrons by the church were especially beautiful this year! I’m anxious to plant a small garden and flower beds. Spring is a time of anticipating, watching things grow, waiting for flowers to share their colorful splendor or maybe carefully checking for that first […]

Pastor’s Message: God’s Love Letter

Dear Friends,

Easter is upon us and here we are a year after trying to adjust to celebrating one of our most joyous and sacred holidays via Zoom. There have been many ups and downs and glitches we have weathered and to be at the same place in the process is disappointing at best. There are […]

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday

We will begin the Season of Lent next Wednesday with a COVID-style observance of Ash Wednesday. On February 17, if you are comfortable and you would like to receive the Imposition of Ashes in person, I will be in the sanctuary from 12 Noon until 1:30 p.m. You may enter the front or on Bennett […]

Making beautiful afghans

The Three Rivers Woman’s Club Afghan group met February 4 at First Presbyterian Church. They donated eight more afghans to the domestic assault shelter; that is a total of over 1,000 afghans donated by the club so far! Kudos to these ladies for their hard work and dedication! Church cat Bennett also enjoys the action.

Pastor’s Message: One Moment at a Time

Greetings and Hello February!

January seemed to fly by and for some reason I have always felt like February was the longest month of the year even though it has the fewest days! Maybe it’s because I start looking for signs of Spring way too early and I’m anticipating working in my flower gardens. So, this […]

Keeping the Dream Alive

FPC members and friends participated in the annual “Solidarity in Diversity” Martin Luther King Jr. celebration, which this year was a standing vigil in downtown Three Rivers. The observance will continue throughout the month of February, as the story of Dr. King’s life and the continued freedom movement will be in downtown storefront windows for […]

Moving Back In! 8.29/30.16

WOW…what a busy few days as many church members pitched in for the big “move-back” into our church from the storage trailers in the parking lot. It also included the “schlepping” of things stored and used in temporary spaces. What a beautiful, new Westminster House we have! The sanctuary is in the process of being […]

June 12 Walk Through

After church on Sunday, June 12, Steve Olson gave us an update on the progress, and what the schedule looks like for the completion of our renovation project. After that, we had the chance to walk through the construction area to see how it was coming. What a transformation!DSC00466

Temporary storage for FPCTRC

If you saw Brenda’s email, you know that the “where-are-we-going-to-store-everything” during our final phase of construction, has been solved. Jamie Clark has donated storage units that have been “parked” in our parking lot. Brenda has also asked that those who are able, to leave the Bennett Street parking spaces for those with mobility issues. Myrna […]

Choirs Kickoff Picnic at Michaels/Pleasant Lake

About 30 people enjoyed an evening of fellowship, music, and good food at Dick and Jan’s Pleasant Lake home. A bonfire and violin music by Joe Michaels warmed the chilly weather. A good time was had by all!
